Our
Story
Several years ago we discovered a common passion with our neighbors,
the Olsen’s, and started a hiking group. We did local hikes
like the Zion Narrows, The Subway, Mt. Timpanogos, Mt. Nebo and many
others. This love for hiking soon spread. We started reading books
about the Himalayas, Mt. Everest, and the Serpa and Tibetan peoples.
As our passion grew, destiny leads us to other people with cultural
interest in the area. Through Darrel and Marla Weaver we met Janling
Norgay and others who live in Nepal. Being parents ourselves, we were
heartbroken by the stories of parents who could not feed their children
so they send them off the mountain to the city. Many times these children
are captured and put into prostitution, slavery, or other difficult
circumstances. We longed to do something to make a difference.
Then the opportunity fell into place for us to go to Nepal to hike.
We felt in our heart that we were so blessed to have this opportunity
but that while we were over there we might have a opportunity to
do something even more meaningful than hike. We met up with Adrian
Burgess from Camp5 Expeditions who said he would help us if we truly
wanted to do a humanitarian effort to help the people of Nepal.
This passion has grown to the point we are at now.
